At the stroke of midnight

Your post this week should start with, ‘At the stroke of midnight…’

I have attempted Fiction-55. Hope the readers like it.

"At the stroke of midnight, when the world sleeps, India awakens", said Jawaharlal Nehru.

There is a knock on the door. Mummy enters the study-room,"Rahul, have you finished reading  history?", caressing his hair.

"No, I still have to prepare two chapters for tomorrow's exams. Will you prepare tea for me?"

Mummy goes into the kitchen.

  3. Moms are such darlings. It is their children who appear for the exams, but the amount of effort they put in certainly makes them eligible for a medal or a prize. Since that is not possible, let us do our bit by offering them our gratitude.
