FRIENDS.

A man is known by the company he keeps.
A friend in need is a friend indeed.

We have grown up hearing the above proverbs about friendship.
Friends form an important part of our growing phase of life
and this form of relationship cannot be defined in words but has to be experienced. . 'Har ek friend zaroori hota hai' as the tagline for an ad goes . True.
No sane man can live on the island of solitude. Different relationships are necessary for his well-being and friendship in one of them.

The bonds of friendships formed in childhood  go a long way in nurturing ties.Later on ,  college friends, office friends add to the list. Some friends stay on for life, while some others drift away due to growing distances, change in perception, clash of egos or leave for no particular reason. Some leave a void in our life, some leave an indelible mark while others teach you lessons for life.

Some stay friends for life and some are like co-passengers in the journey of life , keeping the relationship  short and sweet.

Some people enter in our lives at a later stage of life.

The oft heard ruse by most people is that they cannot find true friends.
Instead of searching for one such, be a good friend to one person and I am sure you may not have to walk alone later.
Lend a shoulder to your friend in need or distress. Listen silently and patiently. Do not advice or be judgmental. These are some of the simple rules of being a friend. Is it too much to ask for or expect?

If friends stay for life consider it as a bonus, if otherwise , be content with  the brief interaction.

Do you agree with me, readers? May I know your views?

  1. Yes, I agree :) It is true instead of being a good, selfless friend, we tend to look for that perfection in others. After all, a friend is someone who does not judge you for everything you do.

    1. Yes we try to find qualities in others but at the same time we should look inward if we possess the qualities.

    1. SuKu, let us think this way. If people want to disassociate themselves from us let them go to make space for new ones to enter. Thanks for visiting SuKu.
